Starr in Venice
STARR
IS COMING HOME
Today is 26 November 2004 and we are sitting on Starr in Club de Mar
in Palma de Mallorca. We were not able to go home to Seattle for Thanksgiving
with our sons, who were having Thanksgiving at our house and called us
several times yesterday to ask for advise as to how long to cook the turkey,
how dad makes the gravy and where is the dry firewood. It almost felt
as if we were home. In a few hours we load Starr onto Dockwise Yacht Transport
and she will arrive in Port Everglades, Florida on 12 December. We fly
to home on Sunday.
Having crossed both the Pacific and the Atlantic Oceans on our own bottom,
it is a lot more fun driving Starr to the adventure and letting Dockwise
bring it home. Our current plans are be home and to cruise Alaska for
the next two or three years, and then to get back on Dockwise again and
return to La Rochelle on the Atlantic Coast of France. We would like to
continue cruising in Europe.
For two "foodies", the past two years cruising the Atlantic
Coast of France and countries of the Mediterranean Sea has been a wonderful
experience and has left us "hungry" for more. We can't imagine
having more fun than traveling the way we have in our "second home"
from country to country. We have many stories to tell and will begin writing
and updating this website in January, after the holidays
We look forward to seeing you all soon!!!!

STARR
leaves La Rochelle, France on 15 April and travels into the Mediterranean
Sea, stopping in La Coruna, Spain; Lisboa, Portugal and arriving
in Gibraltar on 26 April. STARR
travels throughout the Mediterranean visiting the Islas Baleares
(Formentera, Ibiza and Mallorca) and Barcelona in Spain; Sardenia
in Italy; Corsica in France; Sicily in Italy; Malta; Croatia; and
Venice in Italy. In October Starr began her return journey, back
through Croatia; Sicily; Malta and Sardinia; to the Islas Baleares,
Menorca and finally Palma de Mallorca. Here in Palma STARR will
load onto a Dockwise Yacht Transport vessel around the 26 November
to ship to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Don and Sharry will go home
for Christmas and in February or March 2005 will either drive STARR
home or ship her on Dockwise.
